On february 24th 2011, Laurentine, a 47 years old Ivorian woman, fled from the violence of the fighting between the pro-Ouattara forces and thoses loyal to Laurent Gbagbo, in Bin-Houye, her village in Ivory Coast, close to the border with Liberia. With her liberian husband and three of her children, she found refuge in Buutuo, a small town 5 km on the other side of the border, when thousands Ivorians like her have fled. For a few months, she’s lived at Samuel Leaman’s, the school principal, who has welcomed dozens of refugees, and she tries to make a living, while waiting to go safely back home.
